How it works

Know the rules before the clock starts.

Every pool shows its roster size, draft order, pick clock and point system before anyone drafts. Roster size and point rules lock at draft start; each club is final the moment its pick is accepted.

Draft format

Strict snake, with the whole order visible.

A pool has 26 players drafting from the 36 clubs in the league phase. Everyone drafts the same number of clubs: the 36-club field is split evenly between the players, up to a ceiling of 12 clubs a seat, and whatever is left over stays undrafted and scores for nobody. 5 players take 7 clubs each, for example, and the one club nobody picks scores for nobody.

The roster size is not something an organiser picks: the only setting is how many people are playing, and the split follows from that — between 6 and 12 clubs a seat. No seat ever gets an extra one, and the number is shown before anyone drafts.

Round one runs from the first seat to the last, round two reverses, and later rounds keep alternating. The organiser sets a pick clock from 60 seconds up to 24 hours, or no clock at all for a slow draft. If a timed clock expires, the highest club still available in the pool's fixed club order is picked for you and you keep your seat. That order is frozen when the draft starts and every club's place in it is shown in the draft room.

Point system

Ordinary football points, then a bonus for going deep.

The league phase scores what a league table scores, so the standings you read on matchday are the standings your pool is tracking.

League phase — 8 matchdays, one match each
ResultPoints
Win3
Draw1
Loss0

When the 8 matchdays are done, every club earns a bonus for where it finished. The top 8 go straight to the round of 16; 9th–24 drop into the knockout play-offs; the rest are out.

Finishing bonus — where a club ends the 36-club table
Final positionBonusWhat it means
1st6Straight into the round of 16
2nd5Straight into the round of 16
3rd4Straight into the round of 16
4th – 8th3Straight into the round of 16
9th – 24th0Into the knockout play-offs
25th – 36th0Eliminated

Every knockout round is two legs and one result, and only the result scores. Win the tie and your club banks that round’s points, whether it won both legs, split them, or came through on penalties. Lose it and the round is worth nothing — but everything the club banked in earlier rounds stays.

Knockout rounds
RoundWon the tieLost the tie
Knockout play-offs (two legs)20
Round of 16 (two legs)30
Quarter-finals (two legs)40
Semi-finals (two legs)50
Final (one match)60

Each round is worth more than the one before it, so a club that keeps going is worth steadily more than a club that went out early. The final works the same way as every other round: winning it earns 6.

A club that wins all 8 league-phase matches, tops the table, and then wins every knockout round on the way to the trophy scores 48 — the most any single club can be worth.

What counts

Only the club you drafted, only in this competition.

Points come from Champions League matches only. Domestic league, cup and Europa League results never score. A club knocked out stops scoring; the points it already banked stay.

Results are read from the competition’s published record once a match is final, including any extra time and penalty shoot-out. The final league table is taken as published rather than recomputed, so the tie-breaks that separate clubs are the competition’s own.

Tie-breakers

Level on points is broken by how far your clubs went.

  1. Total points
  2. Points from winning the competition
  3. Points from progressing through knockout rounds
  4. Points from league-phase finishing position
  5. League-phase wins
  6. A random tie-break fixed when the pool was created, published before the draft so it can never be chosen after the fact
