Help, safety, and privacy
Straightforward rules. Respectful competition.
The essentials for playing, protecting your account, and understanding what FootyPools does — and does not — do.
Playing
Draft once, follow the competition.
A pool has 2–6 players drafting from the 36 clubs in the league phase, in a strict snake order. Everyone drafts the same number of clubs: the 36-club field is split evenly between the players, up to a ceiling of 12 clubs a seat, and whatever is left over stays undrafted and scores for nobody. The roster size is not something an organiser picks: the only setting is how many people are playing, and the split follows from that — between 6 and 12 clubs a seat. No seat ever gets an extra one, and the number is shown before anyone drafts. The pick clock runs from 60 seconds to 24 hours, or can be switched off entirely for a slow draft.
If a timed clock expires, the highest club still available in the pool's fixed club order is picked for you and you keep your seat. That order is frozen when the draft starts and every club's place in it is shown in the draft room. Roster size and point rules lock when the draft starts, and each club is final the moment its pick is accepted. The full rules, including tie-breakers, are on the how it works page.
Point system
Ordinary football points, then a bonus for going deep.
The league phase scores what a league table scores, so the standings you read on matchday are the standings your pool is tracking. Every pool uses the same values, and they were fixed before the competition started.
League phase
| Result | Points |
|---|---|
| Win | 3 |
| Draw | 1 |
| Loss | 0 |
After the 8 matchdays, each club earns a bonus for where it finished the table. From then on every knockout round is two legs and one result, and only the result scores: win the tie and the club banks that round’s points, however the legs went. Each round is worth more than the one before it, and a club keeps everything it banked before it went out. See the complete point tables.
A club that wins all 8 league-phase matches, tops the table, and then wins every knockout round on the way to the trophy scores 48 — the most any single club can be worth.
What counts: Champions League 2026/27 matches only. Domestic league, domestic cup and other European results never score, and a club that is knocked out keeps the points it already banked.

FootyPools never collects, holds, advertises, or distributes entry fees or prizes, and publishes no betting odds. Public pools cannot include prize language. A private pool may contain only a neutral note that any arrangements happen independently and off-platform.
